Thank you for
entering Liverpool's BDA National League Race. Amathus will be hosting
this event and we hope that you will all have a good day of racing.
Should you wish any help or advice during the day please feel free
to ask any Amathus Club member.
We will be using
the Queen’s Dock Watersports centre, which provides a reasonable
number of toilets and shower facilities.
Light refreshments
and hot drinks will be available from the centre but the are a large
number of shops and restaurants in the Albert Dock shopping area
which is only a short distance from the race course.
To add an extra
element of variety, we will be running a series of 250m races to
start the day. These will follow a slightly different plan to the
standard system in that there will only be two rounds of races.
The main 500m
races will follow the 200’s running over a different course. Be
aware that this is a deep saltwater docklands course and that the
water is of good quality
The actual course
details will be displayed at race control and we advise that your
helms are made aware of the course plan.
There will be
tethered starts on the 500m course, from fixed buoys at the beginning
of each lane if the conditions require it. The races will be three
boat races to an indicated finish point on the dock walls. All races
will be covered by a video camera.
Buoyancy aids
will be available for any participants that require them, these
will need to be requested from the boat marshals.
Details of how
to get to the watersports centre are enclosed but please report
to race control if you are bringing a boat so that you can be directed
personally to the boat loading area as this is on a different car
park from the centre.

Directions from
the M6
1. On the M6
to Junction 21, Follow M62 West to Liverpool
2. Follow M62
towards Liverpool City Centre
3. Once in the
outskirts of Liverpool, follow the brown signs to the Albert Dock
and The Pier Head.
4. Following
these signs you will come onto the Dock Road which passes the Liver
Buildings with the Liverbirds on top.
5. Stay on the
Dock Road passing the Albert Dock on your right and the large Merseyside
Police building on your left, drive on through the road works.
6. Carry on
past the Formula 1 Hotel, the Baltic Fleet pub on your left you
will come to a set of traffic lights with MacDonald’s on the left,
carry straight on continue past the Campanile Hotel and Leo Casino
on your right.
7. At the next
traffic lights, with the Dolby hotel on the right, take the right
hand lane through the lights, effectively keeping straight on.
8. 100m after
the lights, turn right, signposted to Liverpool Marina, you will
see the Queens Dock Watersports centre on your right after another
100m.
Boat movers
· Carry
on past the Watersports Centre
· Follow
the road round to the left towards the Sailing Marina
· Park
the boat and trailer on the large car park outside the Marina
· Report
to the Watersports centre officials for further information if you
need it.
